Hi Guys
Its been a while since Ive been here.
I know its high time that I got myself a bird referencing book.:o
My iding skills are still rubbish, and cant make out the difference between a whimberel and a curlew.
Would appreciate ids on these birds all taken at Kalba on the 8th.

Thanks
Nimeesh

Good practice for me, so dont take what I say as accurate - wait for one of the "gurus".

1. Common Redshank
2. Bar-Tailed Godwit
3. Whimbrel
4. Southern Grey Shrike - although would prefer a higher resolution shot
5. Lesser Sand Plover (foreground) - Sanderling (background)
6. Turnstone
7. I leave Gulls to Tommy !
8. Oyster Catchers

Hi Mike; don't sell yourself short! You are getting very good at ID'ing these critters & absolutely amazing on the photo side (you have a 400/4 now???)
All correct; gull impossible to ID 100%, but I lean towards Steppe Gull

Just wondering on the gull pic , are both of them steppe gulls? I thought the brownish one wud be another species?
And yes Mike your pix are amazing, really inspiring!
