Darkling beetle. YES OR NO!

They are everywhere, i have seen them feeding on road-kill(cheesemans gerbil).

Sad for the gerbil but awsome to see this beetle!

Tough one, Peter. Check out http://www.smugmug.com/gallery/5801172_CrnXT where Tommy had posted a couple of pics, which match your beetles bang on.... I have no clue which ones these are though although Im inclined towards Tenebrionid spp. Hope this helps,
