I found a beautiful specimen of
Speckled Pigeon Columba guinea
trying to save itself from today's dust-storm at the pivot field this morning. See the picture

I've seen them on a couple of occasions on the 'WOODPIGEON' roundabouts near Al Wasl Hospital/ Wafi. Presumably they are from the nearby Zabeel Palaces - the same as the woodpigeons....
