Just back from India, mixed birding and sightseeing trip. My first time in India but was pretty much as I expected. A place of many contrasts.

I have several birds I need help with on ID and hope you can help me ! ;)

Off to Jo'burg for a short business trip tomorrow but will start posting my ID shots on my return. Maybe we can make a little quiz of it ! :p

You would not believe where I took the shot of the snipe. I was taken there by my guide who wanted to keep the location a secret. Put it this way you would not have chosen to go there !!

Painted Stork, White Throated KF. You're talking my home state, Mark - Karnataka (South India) and by the looks of it - Ranganatittu Bird Sanctuary. Still my postulation if you wanna keep this place guarded (and ensure the local guide still has an ace up his sleeve) ;) Great shots.........
