? Grey Heron

Guys, is this a grey heron? Found in a small pond in Al Ruwais on Nov 10..... This was the only bird around, and I saw it every day over 4 days.... Took short bursts in the air every time I tried getting close but never left the pond area. There was plenty of fish about in the pond though :)

i'm checking this lake 3 times a week so hope it will get good birds this winter

I'm sure it would if the pond stays the way it is, Khalifa. However, just looking at the construction work next door with the new residential colony, it could be a different story. Nywyz, fingers crossed. Thanks for the confirmation :) Ciao
