The 26 Sep 2010 record from Wadi Bih, which I thought was a Crested Honey Buzzard (didn't we all?) has been corrected.
A Rare Bird Report will be submitted.
European Honey Buzzard Pernis apivorus
Uncommon to rare migrant, mainly early autumn; rare in spring. One winter record.
Now sufficiently rare to require Rare Bird Report; confusion with Crested Honey Buzzard evident.
Recent records;
- One Dubai Pivot Fields 13 Jan 2006 (C Temple, S Hall).
- One Green Mubazzarah 16 May 2008 (D Wilby).
- One Abu Dhabi; British School Al Khubairat 20 Mar 2009 (N Moran).
- One Dubai Desert Conservation Reserve 6 Oct 2009 (G Simkins).
- One Emirates Palace 11-16 Oct 2009 (A Ward, A & P Cunningham).
- One juvenile Wadi Bih 26 Sep 2010 (T Pedersen).
