It's 2 am and I just arrived home - tired, but looks like a sure-thing Pectoral Sandpiper to me.
Nighty night everybody (anybody going to Mirfa later? I'm off to Cairo.....will be going Sunday morning though!)

Pectoral Sandpiper Calidris melanotos
Vagrant.

Well done Khalifa!

Thanks Tommy. The bird was feeding on the back grass back from the gate building and besides the wall

Bird initially refound on one of the few wet skudge beds, but regularly flushed (no pun intended!) by workers, but only flies a few yards onto nearby grass or the road. Reasonably approachable - should be no problems for the long-lens guys. I managed this uncropped digfiscoped effort:

10782

I was able to walk straight in - the workers eventually challenged me (most have very little English), but were morethan happy to let me roam, especially after I let them look at their American visitor through my scope. Don't know how the presence of management might affect things though.
