It was still there late afternoon. Good views initially, but still had my lenses in my backpack. No photos unfortunately.

Hi
There were 9 Whinchats, a Red-backed Shrike, Lesser Grey Shrike and at least 4 subspecies of Yellow Wagtail. Maybe a fifth: a possible white-headed took off before I got a good look at it..
...
It looks like this now.
I tried again today to get photos of it but didn't even see it.

This is Upcher's Warbler.

I think it is a sphecid wasp trying to take a prey item to one of its burrows in which it will lay eggs. The hatched wasp larva will then feed on the paralysed caterpillar.
Hi Priscilla
I'm pretty certain it's Oleander Hawk moth (Daphnis nerii). Very nice.

Here's the juvenile Steppe Buzzard from today.
No sign of the cranes between 3pm and 6pm today, but there were a few birders on late shift as I left.

Got the cranes in the end with Khalifa. But had to wait until late afternoon.. after missing them by 5 minutes at about 8.20am, and several hours mostly looking at grasshoppers.
I got some photos...
Hi all
The grasshopper is Schistocerca gregaria (Forsskål, 1775) - Desert Locust.
