Who cares about flycatchers when there are the pros about, dragonflies ... Thanks to Oscar & company for meeting us at Sila Park and guiding us to the harbour marsh. Barb & I did a circuit of the main marsh area hoping to find some of the Crocothemis that are seen in Qatar that haven't been recorded in UAE but no red dragonflies were to be seen. We did have:

Diplacodes lefebvrei
Orthetrum sabina
Ischnura evansi
Ischnura fountaineae (perhaps some hybrids)
Anax ephipigger (tandem and one female seen ovipositing alone)

Not bad for this time of the year. Now we know how easy it is to get up here, we'll have to come again. Enjoying the Jebel Dhanna Resort ... If you're coming here and haven't already done so, the few minutes it takes to sign up for the "I Prefer" program is well worth it.
