Oscar and I risked a visit to the drinking pools by the border fence a few weeks back and found them virtually dried up. The shallow one is completely dry, the deeper one is now so low that you can't see any water in it and resembles a mineshaft.

I know it's a rarely-visited place due to the strict security and regular policing, but unless it rains heavily I wouldn't bother chancing a visit for the foreseeable future.
