Thread: swarm of lesser emperors at airport lake

Default swarm of lesser emperors at airport lake

The lake behind the Al Ain Airport lake is a little lacking in feathered creatures but there are plenty of other winged creatures there -- Huw has been getting some great critters there I believe. On the very windy Saturday 17th - I did find a pair of hoopoe larks doing their dance and at the lake about 25 (at least) Lesser Emperor (Anax parthenope) - not sure if they emerged or arrived -- but there were 12 on one reed (photo has 7 of them) otherwise the regular diplacodes, sabina, crocthemis, and maybe a couple of blue emperors.
