Largest oryx herd
Largest oryx herd
Up to 16 May during the month I made 4 field syrvey visits to the desert between Bab Al Shams and Al Faqa- Truck Road. During this period I came across the largest semi-wild or reintroduced herd of 68 Arabian Oryx in the area around N24 046’.17.49” and East 550 15’37.98” that is not open to public visitation. There are always wildlife wardens from the Ruler's office to gurad the area and at least 4 of 50 mini reservations with feeding stations managed by HH Office through the Marmoom Conservation Centre and other wildlife wardens. Beauty of the oryxes were that they were roaming freely and had very good age-group size as I have found 8 calves, almost duble that nuymber of yearlings and handsome looking adults as shown in some o the pictures loaded here. Both Reem/Sand and Arabian Gazelles are plentiful here too
