Photo taken today (Sat 1st Feb) at Wasit Wetland Reserve, Sharjah. They were feeding on grass seeds. I thought I was taking pictures of Silver-bills, but obviously I wasn't. They look like Scaly-breasted Munias, but the pink colour is confusing. Is it paint, I know the pet shops in Sharjah sell White-Cheeked Bulbuls with painted cheeks.
Correct ID 👍 The colouring is done by people for some obscure reason
Cool, so it has made a great escape and is now living in the wilds. I presume Munias are similar to Silver-bills in their habitat, diet etc.
