    Large Wader at Al Zorah - Tuesday 6 August 2019

    Please could you identify this large wader seen at Al Zorah, Ajman this evening at 6:10pm.

    I would say a Common Redshank, but it does not 'sit right'

    Thanks Tommy, I think you are probably right. I was thrown by no red on the legs or bill - the legs were yellow/ green as was the bill, but the setting sun and possibly mud on both legs and bill could cause this? It also looked heavier than usual, but there were no others around to compare.

    Juvenile Common Redshank - the legs can often look quite yellowish/pale orange and lacking red in the bill base. Came across one last month in Norfolk that some were trying to turn into a Lesser Yellowlegs that had been previously reported.
