Had a wonder around the somewhat barren lakes this afternoon. sad to see all the cover for the more secretive species had been obliterated in a number of the larger lakes. Some 15 Little Grebes seemed very exposed as they huddled together for protection. Gone are the reed warblers of course. Anyway, counted around 20 Kentish Plovers and a dozen Temmincks stint along with a small scattering of Little stints, 4 White Wagtails and of course the lone Spotted Redshank which is always a pleasure to see and photograph a reasonably close quarters.(Photos coming soon)
