Hi and thank you for accepting me to the Forum. I am not a Dubai resident, but I will be transiting through Dubai for 13 hours on Saturday 16 November, in the afternoon. Looking at your amazing website, I thought it would be really worth getting out of the airport to visit two/three birding sites in/around town.

I would be grateful to get some advice about which site I should visit, in light of the following 'rough and dirty' list of potential targets in the area, I distilled from your list of key species: Socotra Cormorant, Eastern Imperial Eagle, Cream-coloured Courser, White-tailed Lapwing, Pallid Scops-owl, Pharaoh Eagle-owl, Hypocolius, any of the uncommon Wheatears, Blue-cheeked Bee-eater, Arabian Green Bee-eater, Clamorous Reed-warbler.

I realise prices for taxis/guides are quite high for my pockets, so I was wondering if there are cheaper options in town, like BirdingPals or anyone available to show the Dubai avifauna to a keen birder in exchange for dinner and beers, maybe!

Many thanks in advance for any feedback
