I am a relative beginner despite being in my 70s. Recently re-employed here in Dubai after a contract from 1995 that lasted 17 years. I remember being a member of the Emirates Golf Club in the late 90s and saying to a playing partner ' I am the sort of idiot that will go back to the UK and take up bird watching' - well here I am. A year ago I spent 6 days in a hide in Sweden at an outside temperature of below -30C hoping to get some good images of Golden Eagles in the snow. Got plenty of images but none of them particularly good; because of the snow(fall). Hope that through this site I will become considerably more able to identify the 100s of different birds that all look like sparrows to me - not to mention the gulls etc. Hope to meet some of you in the near future.
Dear all, I'm 38 years old, I live in Italy and I moved to Abu Dhabi a couple of days ago for business, planning to leave in November. I'm an active birdwatcher in Italy and I'd like to take the opportunity to spend some good hours birding during my stay here. Can anyone provide me some advice? Of course, I would really appreciate also to join the "thriving fraternity" in person :-) Thanks a lot in advance, looking forward to meeting you Giorgio
