    Unusual Green Silverbill

    in UAE bird sightings

This little fella turned up on the feeding table this morning with the regular Silverbill family. Returned again this afternoon. Brilliant green flash on the tail and green all over! Taken through the window so not as crisp as I'd like

Any thoughts please, never seen before.

Hi Andy, and welcome to us :-) These poor fellas are regularly dyed green, pink, blue etc.... Animal cruelty for sure, but apparently to celebrate.......something.......

    Thanks Tommy

Did wonder if it was a release. At least this one did get away and seems settled with the rest!

People who do it probably clap when the plane lands!

The clapping is an interesting phenomenon indeed. Happy to be alive, I think ;-)
