This website is dedicated to birders visiting the UAE, aiming to provide as much up-to-date information as possible.
It is important to note that this is a privately run website. Any mistakes or omissions are purely on the behalf of myself, and should not reflect on the E.B.R.C. (Emirates Bird Records Committee). If you do find any mistakes or omissions, please contact Tommy Pedersen directly via email found under 'Contact' above.
It was created in late October 2005 and is frequently updated.
The site moved to its current location www.uaebirding.com on June 22nd 2008. It is included in the Fatbirder 500 top sites, see bottom of page for current ranking.
It is created with Freeway 5 Pro on my Macintosh laptop, and viewed by me in Firefox 3.1. If any of you are experiencing ANY difficulties viewing any aspect of this site on your Windows of Linux PC, a few words describing the problem will be appreciated.
New to this site is the interactive discussion forum found under 'Forum' and the new photo gallery hosted by Smugmug under 'Photos'
New since August 2008 are the added photos and checklist of UAE mammals, lizards, amphibians, dragonflies, arachnids etc.
New since June 2009 is a blog about the large gulls wintering in the UAE.
---------------------
The number of resident, active birders in the UAE is still fairly low, it is imperative that ALL records from visiting birders are submitted.
If you found information on this website useful, please give something back by sending us your records. Old records are also welcome.

The United Arab Emirates is the only country in the Western Palearctic faunistic zone that can claim this superb species.
