Flycatcher at Banyan Fodder Field, RAK - Thurs 16 May 2019

    in Identification problems

The low setting sun was playing tricks with the light and the colours on this flycatcher. Please can you confirm whether this is a Spotted or not. The apparent white sides to the tail base may point to Red-breasted. I would welcome any thoughts.

    Thanks,

    Steve

Definite Spotted Flycather, Steve - note the striated crown. The tail feather edges are backlit and appear paler than they are.
