    Wheatear/Flycatcher ID - Sall Ala, Musandam - 15 November 2019

    in Identification problems

I do apologise - I know this is not the UAE, but it is very close! I would be grateful if someone could identify this bird I saw in the acacia forest at Sall Ala near Khasab on Saturday. Both photos are of the same bird - the second one was in shadow.

    Many thanks,

    Steve

Looks slightly washed out, but I'd suggest female Variable Wheatear, Steve. Very common in that Acacia forest.

Thanks Mark, that was my first thought when I saw it but the white throat caused me to doubt.
